Assistance Guidelines

Our assistance and support is designed to support all young entrepreneurs, Innovators, Doctors, Nurses, Teachers, Engineers, Scientists, Technicians, Lawyers, Accountants, Carpenters, Farmers, Families, all professionals and Individuals in Africa and around the world to chase their dreams and support the African continent, which are registered and operating in Africa and around the World, especially those working at grass roots and local community level, in any field, across a wide range of activities.  Please note we are not able to support political parties. Signing up on Africa4health Missions will be required.

The Africa4health Missions financial and goods assistance to any young entrepreneurs, Innovators, Doctors, Nurses, Teachers, Engineers, Scientists, Technicians, Lawyers, Accountants, Carpenters, Farmers, Families, all professionals and Individuals in Africa and around the world to chase their dreams and support the African continent, working in a wide range of areas in Africa..

 

We welcome applications from all African regions and countries of the World.

 

Please note that we only accept young entrepreneurs, Innovators, Doctors, Nurses, Teachers, Engineers, Scientists, Technicians, Lawyers, Accountants, Carpenters, Farmers, Families, all professionals and Individuals in Africa and around the world will be considered under Africa4health Missions for assistance. We cannot accept applications from political parties..

 

Revised Criteria for Support since COVID-19

 

The Africa4health Missions understands that young entrepreneurs, Innovators, Doctors, Nurses, Teachers, Engineers, Scientists, Technicians, Lawyers, Accountants, Carpenters, Farmers, Families, all professionals and Individuals in Africa and around the world are now operating within very different circumstances since  March 2020 Coronavirus lockdowns and during the gradual relaxation of social distancing restrictions. We are keen to be as flexible as possible in our support of young entrepreneurs, Innovators, Doctors, Nurses, Teachers, Engineers, Scientists, Technicians, Lawyers, Accountants, Carpenters, Farmers, Families, all professionals and Individuals in Africa and around the world during this difficult and constantly changing ongoing period. Africa4health Missions has consulted, listened to the needs of the sectors, and professionals we support and reflected on how we could adapt our assistance to be more flexible and relevant in our response during these unprecedented times. As a result, until further notice, we have revised our criteria for support to include the following:

  1. Our focus will change to make one-year assistance only to young entrepreneurs, Innovators, Doctors, Nurses, Teachers, Engineers, Scientists, Technicians, Lawyers, Accountants, Carpenters, Farmers, Families, all professionals and Individuals in Africa and around the world that can demonstrate ongoing project and program sustainability for the next 5 Years from the date of their application.

  2. More assistance to cover projects and programs costs and goods, favouring those with no, or without significant, public funding or assistance. 

  3. Assistance to cover essential equipment or re-equipping to enable ongoing projects and programs provision.

  4. Grants to enable minor works, or fund equipment, to enable social distancing within buildings.

  5. Projects/programs that employ or support local skilled and none skilled, freelance and independent artists and other practitioners.

  6. Projects/programs that help reduce fixed or variable costs to promote efficiency savings, or which enable the generation of higher income, or additional revenue streams. This can include agriculture, production of herbal remedies, manufacture of food stuffs, environmental efficiency projects to reduce your carbon footprint, energy costs, or which improve internal air circulation systems to improve safety for visitors.

  7. Occasionally, to consider additional assistance (by exception) for existing community project already supported and underway, during lockdown. (Please discuss your situation with Africa4health Missions before applying).

 

Young entrepreneurs, Innovators, Doctors, Nurses, Teachers, Engineers, Scientists, Technicians, Lawyers, Accountants, Carpenters, Farmers, Families, all professionals and Individuals in Africa and around the world must demonstrate project and program sustainability for the next 5 Years. Please note that demonstrating sustainability in the current uncertain climate is vitally important. If you cannot demonstrate this, your application is likely to be declined. For example, you must let us know:

 

  • the impact of COVID-19 on your organisation or project to date

  • how you have retrenched, reduced staff and other costs, or cut back your normal service

  • what services or project you can still provide and to whom and by what means

  • how you are implementing/or intend to implement social distancing rules

  • what your contingencies or fallback position will be if further lockdown measures, either local or national come into effect

  • what your revised COVID-19 affected annual income/expenditure forecast is likely to be

  • what income you have raised to date for the current year

  • your current shortfall for the year and how you consider that this can be met

  • if you have any reserves and how they are being used to support your organisation or project at this time

  • what borrowings have you incurred, or are contemplating, for how much and on what terms as to interest and repayment

  • if you are able to access any central or local government, public agency or lottery funding

  • the details of any other funding sources you are applying for

 

Further Criteria to Consider When Making an Application for assistance from Africa4health missions

 

  • We are unlikely to support start-up costs for young entrepreneurs, Innovators, Doctors, Nurses, Teachers, Engineers, Scientists, Technicians, Lawyers, Accountants, Carpenters, Farmers, Families, all professionals and Individuals in Africa and around the world .

  • We are unlikely to consider applications from financial assistance from charitable organisations and charitable community groups who offer grants.

  • Please note, Africa4health Missions assistance offered will be restricted to Africa based projects and programs as per application, and cannot be directed on any other purpose or on any other continent without the permission of Africa4health Missions.

  • Young entrepreneurs, Innovators, Doctors, Nurses, Teachers, Engineers, Scientists, Technicians, Lawyers, Accountants, Carpenters, Farmers, Families, all professionals and Individuals in Africa and around the world projects and programs that provide direct benefits and services to the general public in Africa (rather than special interest groups) will be favoured.

  • We will support projects/initiatives where applicants work in partnership on joint projects and programs with other young entrepreneurs, Innovators, Doctors, Nurses, Teachers, Engineers, Scientists, Technicians, Lawyers, Accountants, Carpenters, Farmers, Families, all professionals and Individuals in Africa and around the world in any African country . In such cases a lead young entrepreneurs, Innovators, Doctors, Nurses, Teachers, Engineers, Scientists, Technicians, Lawyers, Accountants, Carpenters, Farmers, Families, all professionals and Individuals in Africa and around the world, to which any assistance will be made, must be identified.

  • Retrospective assistance will not be considered, but assistance will be offered for projects and programs that have already started on application approval.

How Much Can You Apply For

 

Financial, or Goods or products. Financial assistance Maximum £50,000 per year. Goods or Products maximum 10 tons per year

 

When Can You Apply

 

Applications are welcomed from young entrepreneurs, Innovators, Doctors, Nurses, Teachers, Engineers, Scientists, Technicians, Lawyers, Accountants, Carpenters, Farmers, Families, all professionals and Individuals in Africa and around the world , which are registered in their local area or country and have been in operation for at least one year.

Please note that competition is intense; we receive many more applications than we are able to assist.

If an application is declined, the young entrepreneurs, Innovators, Doctors, Nurses, Teachers, Engineers, Scientists, Technicians, Lawyers, Accountants, Carpenters, Farmers, Families, all professionals and Individuals in Africa and around the world is eligible to reapply 12 months after the previous request date. If you have been declined within the last few months, prior to the Coronavirus outbreak, please email us to discuss your specific situation).

Where financial assistance of £20,000 or less has been awarded, the young entrepreneurs, Innovators, Doctors, Nurses, Teachers, Engineers, Scientists, Technicians, Lawyers, Accountants, Carpenters, Farmers, Families, all professionals and Individuals in Africa and around the world is eligible to re-apply to Africa4health Missions 6 months after the approval date. However, please note that once you have received the financial assistance from Africa4health missions you may not be a priority for financial assistance in the following year.

Where financial assistance of over £30,000 per annum has been awarded, the Africa4health missions will not normally accept any further

applications from the same young entrepreneurs, Innovators, Doctors, Nurses, Teachers, Engineers, Scientists, Technicians, Lawyers, Accountants, Carpenters, Farmers, Families, all professionals and Individuals in Africa and around the world within three years from the date of the award or final instalment.

How To Apply

Applications need to be submitted online. Assistance applications form

Please note that we purposely do not have a word limit to allow applicants the space to give us the information necessary to explain the project and program and the need for assistance, but please keep answers relevant, clear and summarise information.

The Assistance Appraisal Team may wish to discuss the application, and request further information in order to appraise the application before it is presented to the Board of Directors.

The Chief Executive and Assistance Team will report to the Directors at the first available meeting and will notify the applicant of the Director's decision.

Information/Documents you will need:

 

  1. Email address

  2. Project proposal (only for those applying for goods assistance)

  3. Accounts:

i. Latest signed accounts

ii. Income and expenditure figures for the last financial year (if the year after your latest signed accounts)

 

4. Annual Budgets:

i. Current annual budget (including information on how you have revised this due to the impact of COVID-19)

ii. Annual budget for year grant requested in (if for year after current annual year

 

5. Project budget

6. Permission of the Chair/a Directors and Senior Management Team to submit the request on behalf of the young entrepreneurs, Innovators, Doctors, Nurses, Teachers, Engineers, Scientists, Technicians, Lawyers, Accountants, Carpenters, Farmers, Families, all professionals and Individuals in Africa and around the world

 

Notes on Attachments

 

Please ensure all attachments are titled clearly, ideally in the following format:

 

'Young entrepreneurs, Innovators, Doctors, Nurses, Teachers, Engineers, Scientists, Technicians, Lawyers, Accountants, Carpenters, Farmers, Families, all professionals and Individuals in Africa and around the world Name – The Document Type – The Year/Time Period Document Relates to'.

 

The maximum size for attachments combined is 15 Mb. Please note that files with certain extensions (such as "exe", "com", "vbs" or "bat") cannot be uploaded. After browsing and selecting a file, make sure you click on upload.

 

CREATING A NEW PROFILE ACCOUNT & STARTING AN APPLICATION

 

Applications need to be submitted online. You will need to create your profile account on Africa4health missions to access the application using your email address as part of the application process.  Once a profile account is created, you will receive email confirmation of this within a few minutes.  If this is not received please contact the Africa4health missions support Team before proceeding.

 

You will not be able to save an application you are working on to return to it later via your account.  Neither a copy of the application questions can be emailed to yourself or others after you begin to complete the form. Note that applications you are working on will not timeout after. If an application is declined, the young entrepreneurs, Innovators, Doctors, Nurses, Teachers, Engineers, Scientists, Technicians, Lawyers, Accountants, Carpenters, Farmers, Families, all professionals and Individuals in Africa and around the world is eligible to reapply 12 months after the previous request date.

Some applicants choose to type their answers onto a Microsoft Word document and then copy and paste onto the online form once ready to submit their application.
